Cyanotype
First experiments with cyanotype, exploring sunlight, shadow, movement and the natural environment.
I’ve been experimenting with cyanotype as a way of working directly with sunlight, using plants, shadows and the movement of wind to create photographic impressions. I’m interested in the unpredictability of the process, particularly how the plants shift in the wind as they are exposed, allowing light, time and movement to become part of the image. As the experiments developed, I began introducing coloured paper into the process, exploring how colour could interact with the distinctive blue of the cyanotype.

Pocket Cyanotype
A mini-series of cyanotypes made from moments in my day-to-day life.
I made these cyanotypes small enough to keep in a tin and carry with me wherever I went. The idea was to create a portable space for making, something I could return to alongside work and everyday life, whenever I found a spare moment. It became a way of making creativity feel accessible and playful, using whatever was around me to experiment, make images and have fun with the process without the pressure of creating something large or finished.
