A self-initiated art sharing project titled Toot, exploring experimental image-making through found materials and conceptual prompts.
The project included creating a fictional hybrid animal by combining imagery from different species, using found material from Animal Magazine. Another response explored the word “seat”, using colours from record sleeve cardboard alongside photographs of pebbles and rocks collected from my environment, focusing on form, texture, and visual association. A further response explored the word “place”, combining photographic backgrounds with simple collaged house forms to create a straightforward visual interpretation of location and environment.
The latest response explored found text and chance. A poetry book found by the roadside was used to select a random line, which was recreated using mixed media before being transformed into a cyanotype.
